As an independent cooperative of over 100 years, the Basel-Stadt Homeowners' Association safeguards and promotes the interests of property owners in public and at the legislative level. To this end, it supports, on the one hand, all efforts that serve the preservation of private property and the broad distribution of house, land and condominium ownership. On the other hand, the HEV Basel-Stadt provides services at its office in the valuation of real estate as well as advice on all questions related to real estate. Appropriate forms and printed matter can also be obtained from HEV Basel-Stadt.

Thanks to its approximately 6,000 members, HEV Basel-Stadt exerts a weighty influence on the legislature, administration and economy with the corresponding public relations work:

• Representation of interests at the cantonal level in the Grand Council
• Official contact person of the authorities for questions of home ownership
• Representation in the state arbitration board for rental disputes

Representation in the cantonal tree protection commission, the cantonal nature conservation commission as well as in the administrative commission and the treasury commission of the building insurance Basel-Stadt,

• Publication of the association's own newspaper "der Hausbesitzer", which appears 10 times a year,
• Launching of political proposals, e.g.: Basel-Stadt popular initiative "For a family-friendly inheritance tax".

The political representation of homeowners' interests at the federal level is carried out by the Swiss Homeowners' Association with around 300,000 members (example: launch of the popular initiatives "Own four walls thanks to building savings" and "Safe living in old age").

The HEV BS is therefore your competent partner when it comes to the valuation of your property(ies). In addition, the office provides useful services in advising on all issues related to your residential property and/or real estate - in the areas of property management, legal advice and construction advice.
