The company Blumer Söhne + Cie AG was originally a spinning mill. However, in autumn 1990 the production was stopped. From that time on, the company's purpose was changed to the further development and management of the real estate owned by the company. Today, most of the buildings vacated by the cessation of production have been put to new use.

Our small team leases, maintains and manages these properties. We also work consistently to further develop the potential that still exists, so that properties that are not yet in use today can soon serve a new purpose.

Real Estate

In the buildings of the former spinning mill, most of which date back to the 19th century, a new variety of life has developed. One can find commercial and service businesses of various orientations, warehouses and studios, lofts and apartments in them.

The ensemble of the spinning mill complex is considered an important witness of an economic, social and architectural epoch. It has therefore been classified as a protected object of cantonal importance by the Department for the Preservation of Historical Monuments.

The former foundry buildings are used for storage, parking, hobbies and handicrafts.

Early on, the company built residential buildings for its employees, the oldest of which also date from the 19th century. These are still used as apartments.

**Design plan

The company Blumer Söhne und Cie AG is preparing a private design plan for the former spinning and foundry site, which is located in the heart of Freienstein. After the closure of the plant in 1990, the company began early on with conversions, but the present design plan now prepares the largest step to date towards a comprehensive new use.

For the residents of the lower Tösstal, especially for the residents of Freienstein, this development step of the company Blumer Söhne AG is of no small importance. On the one hand, the village of 2500 souls will be supplemented by about 130 residential units, and on the other hand, the character of Freienstein will be significantly shaped by the new buildings.
